Q. Can you install replacement windows, doors, and siding during winter months?
A. Absolutely. Remember, most windows installation jobs take just one day. Same for doors. Siding installations are more susceptible to winter conditions but most of the time there are minimal conflicts.

Q. Will you come to my house for an appointment?
A. Absolutely. In fact, we prefer to. However, it you would like to visit one of our showrooms please do. After all, we prefer to stay in touch with you in a manner with the method you prefer.

Q. What about decorative glass? Is it worth the cost, and what kind of choices are available?
A. The style of glass you choose will play an important role in the appearance – and curb appeal – of your home. Look for a manufacturer that offers you a comfortable range of choices. The more styles you have to choose from, the better you can protect or enhance the value of your home, whatever its architectural style.

Q. How long does it take to install my windows?
A. In fact, most windows installation jobs take just one day.

Q. What kind of warranty should I look for when buying windows, doors and siding?
A.

The warranty on windows, doors and siding from any reputable source should:

  1. Be easy to read and understand
  2. State in writing that it covers your windows, doors and siding for a lifetime.
  3. Cover every part of the product purchased
  4. Be transferable to the next homeowner when you sell.
  5. Be supported by a manufacturer in good financial standing.

It's always wise to check on a company's financial strength. If it isn't strong, it may not honor your warranty claim. Or worse, the company may not be around when you need to make a claim.

Q. How long will it take once you order my windows until they are installed?
A. While time frames vary depending upon a number of factors from the total number of windows to the time of the year, the entire process can take as little as two to three weeks.

Q. Can I install custom-made windows myself?
A. Yes, but the better question might be, "Should I install custom-made windows myself?" Professional installers have all the necessary equipment to do the job right, like bending exterior trim panels to make them more visually appealing. Measuring the size of the window is extremely important as well. If your measurements are off by as little as 1/4", a custom-made window may not fit. We strongly recommend that you let a professional do the job for you.

Q. Do your windows come with a warranty?
A. Yes. A 100% limited lifetime warranty that’s guaranteed. Ask us about it.

Q. Why choose vinyl replacement windows or siding?
A. There are hundreds of reasons. However, the primary reasons are maintenance-free benefits like no painting, scratch, dent & stain resistance, and their energy saving benefits.

Q. Is it better to do as many windows as possible rather than one at a time?
A. Yes. You’ll always get a better price because you’ll save on installation costs alone. Plus, you’ll have fewer interruptions in your daily life rather than multiple installations. But naturally, we work with you to best accommodate your needs

Q. What are the R-values for various window frames, and what is considered acceptable?
A. The higher the R-value, the better the energy efficiency. And as with any measure of energy efficiency, it's not so much what's considered acceptable, as what's acceptable for you. We fill every window frame with patented R-Core® (pre-expanded high density solid polyurethane insulation). The same type of insulation used in many refrigerator/freezer doors. Our process of utilizing pre-expanded insulation eliminates voids and settling that can reduce the effectiveness of other insulating methods.

Q. Is all Low-E glass the same?
A. Definitely not. There are two major types of Low-E glass: hard-coat (tin/pyrolytic) and vacuum-deposition (silver/sputter). Both types block radient heat, keeping summer's heat outside and winter's heat inside. And both block the sun's rays to some degree. But the similarities end there.

Q. I like the maintenance-free benefits of vinyl, but I really like the look of a wood interior. Can I get a woodgrain look on vinyl windows?
A. Woodgrain finishes are available with some vinyl windows. Windows Unlimited offers four interior woodgrain choices – Natural Oak, Golden Oak, Colonial Cherry and Colonial White – so there's a woodgrain color to complement any architectural motif.

Q. I've heard about a new, higher-quality window glass that cleans easily and stays cleaner longer than ordinary glass?
A. It's true. It's a higher quality of window glass that provides windows you'll clean half as often and in half the time. When windows do require cleaning, a garden hose and a squeegee or a soft cloth are all that's required. Easy-Clean Glass is a product of Windows Unlimited that utilizes PPG technology.
